Thousand Sensations Craft Beer & Food Festival takes place on 16 & 17 September in Wilderness, near George in the Western Cape, South Africa. The spectacular Wilderness Hotel will be the venue for the second year.
The festival, now in its 3rd year, features 150 artisanal, hand-crafted beers and ciders from 35 craft brewers. Thousand Sensations Craft Beer & Food Festival is positioning itself as the event for meeting brewers and like-minded craft beer lovers, while tasting new, exciting and lesser spotted beers from brewers across South Africa. Even non-alcoholic, crafted, malt-based soft beverages, if that’s how you roll.
Along with a wide variety of craft beers and ciders, Thousand Sensations includes fine wines, crafted liquors, fruit juices and gourmet food. To further pique your interests there’s home brewing equipment, live music and big screen TVs, or if you’re feeling lost, join one of 4 festival pairing sessions as an optional extra. A special addition to this year festival is the BMW Craft Bikes on display.
Entry to the festival is R80 per person per day and includes a festival-branded glass and 5 tasting tickets. Or make a weekend of it at only R120 per person for a 2-day pass.
If just a weekend is not enough, there are numerous pairing events in the days running up to Thousand Sensations Craft Beer & Food Festival too.
At R150 per person, pairings include 8 different beers. Starting on 12 September at House of Flavours, it moves to Turnberry Boutique Hotel Oudtshoorn on the 13th, continues on the Insomnia Party Bus on the 14th and culminates at the Diaz Hotel on 15 September.
Remember, it’s school holidays, so don’t let the busy season spoil your fun. Book your tickets (and accommodation) early, and get ready for the biggest craft beer festival on the Garden Route.
